04 STRINGER / LOCAL PRODUCTION

Local knowledge for international desks.

For news organizations without permanent photographic staff in Costa Rica, I can work as a local stringer on individual or recurring assignments. Coverage can include photography, accurate captions and contextual notes prepared for editorial use.

Being based in Costa Rica also means I can help an overseas desk understand locations, travel realities and access before an assignment. Depending on the story, I can support location research, bilingual coordination and local logistics.

My training includes a photography degree, the Magnum Photos + UAL Intensive Documentary Course in London and the VII Photo Masterclass in Arles.

06 FAQ

For editors and news desks.

What is the difference between this service and your photojournalism work?

This page is for deadline-driven news and press assignments. My photojournalism page focuses more on magazine features, reportage and longer-form editorial stories.

Where can you work in Costa Rica?

I’m based in Costa Rica and work nationwide. Feasibility for urgent assignments depends on the location, access and my availability when the story develops.

Can you work with an international editor or correspondent?

Yes. I can work from a remote brief or alongside journalists and production teams already on the ground.

What should a news desk send when contacting you?

The assignment brief, location, timing, expected deliverables, intended publication and any access or credential information already available are the most useful starting points.
