Why Dual Camera Bodies Make Sense for Rainforest Shoots. During a multi-day shoot in Costa Rica, I realized that changing lenses in wet, humid conditions was risky. Moisture and dust could easily get inside the camera, potentially ruining the shot and the equipment.

As a Costa Rica photographer, I now carry two camera bodies. This approach allows me to have a wide-angle lens on one and a telephoto on the other, reducing the need to swap lenses in challenging conditions. It also ensures that if one body encounters a problem, I still have a backup ready.

My advice? Invest in dual camera bodies when shooting in tropical environments. Based on my experience, doing photography in Costa Rica requires both preparation and adaptability. By minimizing lens changes and protecting your gear, you can stay focused on capturing wildlife and landscapes without unnecessary interruptions.
