Dealing with Lens Moisture in Remote Areas. While photographing deep in Costa Rica’s rainforest, three hours from the nearest town, I experienced lens moisture that prevented me from shooting. The humidity in remote locations can catch even experienced photographers off guard.
In my experience as a Costa Rica photographer, using airtight bags, silica gel packs, and patience are essential. Letting lenses dry properly prevents permanent damage while allowing you to continue capturing wildlife and landscapes safely.
My advice? Always carry moisture protection tools and factor in extra time for drying. Based on my experience, doing photography in Costa Rica often requires foresight and preparation to handle unpredictable tropical conditions.
